Medication Management for Norwell, MA

Harborside Psychiatrics is based on Cape Cod, in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and delivers medication management by telehealth to patients across the state. You do not drive to us. You meet with a psychiatric nurse practitioner from wherever you are.

Norwell runs on a full week. Many households here have someone commuting into Boston, kids in practice or rehearsal most evenings, and a harbor-village pace that still expects people to show up on time for everything else. Medication management that requires a half-day off work, or a drive to an office and back, does not fit that week. A video appointment scheduled around your actual calendar does.

Medication Management for people in Norwell, MA

Medication management at Harborside happens over live video, using a secure platform you access from a computer, tablet, or phone. You need a working camera and microphone and a private space where you can speak openly for the length of the appointment.

An initial evaluation typically runs longer than a follow-up, since it covers your history, current symptoms, past treatment, and any medications you are already taking. Follow-up appointments are shorter and focus on how a medication is working, what to adjust, and what to watch for. How often you are seen depends on where you are in treatment: more frequently early on or after a change, then spaced out as things settle.

When a prescription is needed, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose, in Norwell or wherever is most convenient. You do not need to pick it up in person from us, and you do not need to be in Yarmouth Port at any point in this process. The clinician is licensed in Massachusetts and delivers care to you at your location in the state.

How telehealth care actually works

Medication management at Harborside addresses conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, obsessive-compulsive patterns, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and sleep difficulties, along with medication support for eating disorders alongside therapy. Appointments also cover general questions about how a medication is affecting your mood, energy, sleep, or focus, and adjustments to existing regimens started elsewhere. Massachusetts licensure permits our nurse practitioners to prescribe the full range of medications clinically indicated for these conditions, including stimulant medication where appropriate.

What we treat

The first appointment is an evaluation. Expect questions about your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, any medications or supplements you take now, family history, and what has or has not helped before. This is also the time to describe what a typical week looks like for you, since that shapes what a realistic plan looks like. By the end of the appointment you should have a clear sense of a proposed plan, including whether medication is recommended, what to expect from it, and when your next appointment will be.

What the first appointment involves

Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also Harborside’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each clinician are on the team page.

Therapy and eating disorder work are delivered by Harborside’s licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Some patients see a nurse practitioner for medication and a therapist for weekly sessions at the same time.

Who our clinicians are

Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial and a follow-up appointment are listed on the pricing page, and questions about cost can be answered before anything is booked.

What it costs

Getting started begins with scheduling an initial evaluation. You will fill out some intake paperwork ahead of time, and you can ask about cost or logistics before you commit to an appointment. Care is delivered by video, so there is nothing to arrange beyond a quiet space and a working connection at the scheduled time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a diagnosis already to book an appointment?

No. The first appointment includes a full evaluation, so a prior diagnosis isn’t required to get started.

Yes, with your permission. Many patients keep an existing therapist and use Harborside only for medication management.

It depends on the medication and how you’re responding to it. Some patients are seen monthly at first, then less often once things are stable.

Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, the same as they would be after an in-person visit.

Harborside is private-pay and doesn’t bill insurance directly. A superbill is available for out-of-network reimbursement, where a plan allows it.

That’s part of ongoing management. Changes are discussed and made together at a follow-up visit, not on your own.
