Harborside is based on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and the team delivers care by video across New England, including to households throughout Ridgefield. Many of the families who reach out are the ones doing the research for someone else — a parent looking into care for a teenager, or a parent quietly looking into care for themselves while managing a household that runs on a tight schedule. Ridgefield tends to be more family-centered and less commuter-driven than the towns closer to the shoreline, and the people who call us are usually looking for one thing above all: a clinician who stays with them appointment after appointment, not a different name each time.
That preference for continuity, along with the ability to pay privately for care rather than working through an insurance network, is the starting point for how we built this practice.
Care at Harborside happens over live video, appointment by appointment, with the same clinician each time. You will need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera. There is no app to download beyond a simple video link sent ahead of your session.
An initial medication management appointment runs longer than a typical follow-up, because it involves a full conversation about your history, current symptoms, and any medications you have already tried. Follow-up appointments are shorter and are scheduled at an interval your clinician sets based on what you are being treated for and how a new medication or dose is settling — sometimes every few weeks at first, and less often once things are stable.
If a prescription is appropriate, it is sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choosing near Ridgefield, the same way it would be if you were seeing a clinician in person. Harborside is licensed to provide this service to patients located in Connecticut at the time of their appointment, so you will need to be physically in the state when you log in.
The practice itself is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts. There is no local office in Ridgefield or anywhere in Fairfield County. Every appointment is by video, from wherever you are.
Medication management at Harborside addresses common and persistent mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, insomnia, and mood-related conditions that affect daily functioning. This includes evaluating symptoms, discussing medication options and their tradeoffs, and adjusting a plan over time as your response to treatment becomes clearer. Some patients come in with a diagnosis already in hand and want a second opinion on their current regimen. Others come in without a clear diagnosis and want a thorough evaluation before any medication is discussed at all. Both are appropriate reasons to schedule an initial appointment.
Your first appointment is a conversation, not a checklist. Your clinician will ask about your current symptoms, your health history, any medications or supplements you take now, and what you have tried before, whether that worked or not. You should expect questions about sleep, appetite, mood, concentration, and anything that runs in your family medically. By the end of the appointment, you and your clinician will have a plan — which may include a new prescription, an adjustment to something you are already taking, a referral to one of our therapists, or a decision to wait and reassess at a follow-up.
Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also Harborside’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each clinician are available on the team page.
Therapy and eating disorder care at Harborside are delivered by our licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Some patients in Ridgefield work with one of our nurse practitioners for medication and one of our therapists for ongoing talk therapy, coordinated as a single plan of care.
Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial and a follow-up medication management appointment are listed on our pricing page. If you have questions about cost, you can ask before anything is booked.
If you are ready to schedule, you can book an initial medication management appointment directly online. If you are not sure medication management is the right starting point for you or your teenager, you can also reach out with questions first. There is no obligation to commit to ongoing care after a single appointment. Our full medication management service page covers what this looks like across all the states we serve, and our Connecticut telehealth page and Upper Fairfield region page describe how care works more broadly for patients in your part of the state. If anxiety is part of what brought you here, our anxiety treatment page goes into more detail on how that is addressed alongside medication.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988. Harborside does not provide emergency or after-hours care.

No. The first appointment includes a full evaluation, so a prior diagnosis isn’t required to get started.
Yes, with your permission. Many patients keep an existing therapist and use Harborside only for medication management.
It depends on the medication and how you’re responding to it. Some patients are seen monthly at first, then less often once things are stable.
Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, the same as they would be after an in-person visit.
Harborside is private-pay and doesn’t bill insurance directly. A superbill is available for out-of-network reimbursement, where a plan allows it.
That’s part of ongoing management. Changes are discussed and made together at a follow-up visit, not on your own.
