Harborside Psychiatrics is based on Cape Cod, and the team delivers care by telehealth to people across New England, including Westwood. That distance is not a compromise. It means a resident of Westwood can get an appointment on their own schedule, from their own kitchen table or home office, without adjusting a commute or a workday around a waiting room in Boston.
Westwood is a town where people tend to know their neighbors and keep their commitments quiet. If you are looking into medication management, you likely want a plain answer about what the appointment involves, who you would be working with, and what it costs, before you decide anything. That is what this page is for.
Harborside is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and every appointment happens over secure video. You do not need special equipment. A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a stable internet connection is enough. You will get a link ahead of time and join from wherever you have privacy.
An initial evaluation typically runs longer than a follow-up, giving your clinician time to go through your history, your current symptoms, and what you have already tried. Follow-up appointments are shorter and focused on how things are going and whether any adjustment is needed. How often you are seen depends on your situation and what medication, if any, is involved: some people are seen monthly at first, then move to a longer interval once things are stable.
If a prescription is appropriate, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose near Westwood, the same way most prescriptions are handled today. You do not need to pick anything up in Yarmouth Port or travel anywhere for a refill conversation. That entire relationship, from evaluation to ongoing prescribing, happens over video.
Medication management at Harborside addresses conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, obsessive-compulsive patterns, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and sleep difficulties, along with medication support that complements ongoing therapy for eating disorders. The goal of an evaluation is to understand your symptoms, your history, and what has and has not worked before, so that any medication decision is grounded in your specific situation rather than a general protocol.
The first appointment is a full evaluation, not a quick check-in. Your clinician will ask about your current symptoms, your medical and psychiatric history, any medications you have tried, and what brought you in now. You will have room to ask questions of your own. By the end of that appointment, you and your clinician will have a plan, whether that includes a prescription, a referral to therapy, further evaluation, or a combination.
You do not need to prepare anything elaborate. It helps to have a list of any medications or supplements you currently take and the name of a pharmacy near Westwood.
Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also the clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each clinician are available on the team page.
Therapy and eating disorder work are delivered by Harborside’s licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Depending on your needs, your care may involve a prescriber alone or a prescriber working alongside a therapist.
Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial and a follow-up appointment are listed on the pricing page, and questions about cost can be answered before anything is booked.
If you are ready to move forward, you can request an appointment through Harborside’s intake process, which starts with some basic information and a scheduling link. You will complete a brief history before your first visit so your clinician can make the best use of your time together. There is no obligation at the inquiry stage, and any question about fit or scheduling can be answered before you commit to anything.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988. Harborside Psychiatrics does not provide emergency or after-hours care.

No. The first appointment includes a full evaluation, so a prior diagnosis isn’t required to get started.
Yes, with your permission. Many patients keep an existing therapist and use Harborside only for medication management.
It depends on the medication and how you’re responding to it. Some patients are seen monthly at first, then less often once things are stable.
Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, the same as they would be after an in-person visit.
Harborside is private-pay and doesn’t bill insurance directly. A superbill is available for out-of-network reimbursement, where a plan allows it.
That’s part of ongoing management. Changes are discussed and made together at a follow-up visit, not on your own.
