Medication Management for Sharon, MA

Harborside Psychiatrics is physically located on Cape Cod, but most of the people we work with never sit in a waiting room. Our team delivers medication management by telehealth to patients across New England, including people who live in Sharon and want care that fits around a settled family routine rather than another commute into Boston.

Sharon is a town where people tend to stay put, know their neighbors, and expect things to be handled directly and without fuss. That is the same approach we bring to psychiatric medication management: a clear explanation of what a visit involves, what it costs, and what happens next, before you commit to anything.

Medication Management for people in Sharon, MA

Care at Harborside is delivered entirely by secure video visit. You do not need special equipment. A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a stable internet connection is enough. You log in from home, from your car during a lunch break, or from anywhere in Massachusetts with privacy and a signal.

Harborside is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and every clinician who sees you is licensed to practice in Massachusetts. An initial evaluation typically runs longer than a standard visit, usually 45 to 60 minutes, so there is time to go over your history, current symptoms, and any medications you have already tried. Follow-up appointments are shorter, generally 20 to 30 minutes, and are scheduled at whatever interval your treatment calls for, often monthly at first and then spaced out as things stabilize.

If a prescription is appropriate, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice in Sharon or wherever is most convenient for you. You do not need to pick anything up in person or coordinate a paper script. Refills, dosage questions, and side effect concerns between appointments are handled through our patient messaging system, so you are not left waiting until the next visit to raise something that is bothering you.

How telehealth care actually works

Medication management at Harborside addresses the conditions most likely to bring an adult, teenager, or family to a first appointment: anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sleep problems, and mood or attention symptoms that have not responded to therapy alone. Some patients come to us already on a medication that is not working well, others have never tried one and want to understand what their options actually are.

We also work with patients on functional psychiatry approaches, which look at nutrition, sleep, movement, and lab-based markers alongside standard prescribing, for people who want that piece included in their care rather than treated separately. Every treatment plan is built around your specific symptoms and history, not a standard protocol applied the same way to everyone.

What we treat

Your first visit is a full clinical evaluation, done over video. Your clinician will ask about your current symptoms, how long they have been going on, what you have already tried, your medical history, and any family history that is relevant. You will have a chance to ask questions before any decision is made about medication.

Not every evaluation ends in a prescription. Sometimes the right next step is therapy, a referral, or simply more time to observe a pattern. If medication is recommended, your clinician will walk through what it is, what to expect in the first few weeks, and what side effects to watch for, so you are not finding this out from a pharmacy insert after you get home.

What the first appointment involves

Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also Harborside’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions, and each brings her own areas of clinical focus to that work. Full bios and credentials for each of them are on our team page.

Therapy and eating disorder care at Harborside are delivered by our licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC, ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Patients who need both medication management and therapy can have both delivered under the same practice, with clinicians who coordinate directly with each other.

Who our clinicians are

Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial evaluation and for follow-up appointments are listed on our pricing page. If you have questions about cost, you can ask them before anything is booked, so there are no surprises once you are already in the process.

What it costs

If you are ready to schedule, you can book a first appointment directly online. If you are not sure yet whether medication management is the right fit, or whether you would be better served by therapy first, you can reach out with questions before committing to anything. We work with patients across Sharon and the rest of the South Metro area, and appointments are held over video from wherever you happen to be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a diagnosis already to book an appointment?

No. The first appointment includes a full evaluation, so a prior diagnosis isn’t required to get started.

Yes, with your permission. Many patients keep an existing therapist and use Harborside only for medication management.

It depends on the medication and how you’re responding to it. Some patients are seen monthly at first, then less often once things are stable.

Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, the same as they would be after an in-person visit.

Harborside is private-pay and doesn’t bill insurance directly. A superbill is available for out-of-network reimbursement, where a plan allows it.

That’s part of ongoing management. Changes are discussed and made together at a follow-up visit, not on your own.
