Harborside Psychiatrics is based on Cape Cod, and the team delivers medication management by video to adults across Massachusetts, including Southborough. That distance is not a limitation. It means a Southborough parent can join an appointment from a home office between a 6 pm pickup and a 7:30 pm meeting, instead of losing an afternoon to a drive on Route 9.
Southborough is a small, affluent town built around good schools and long commutes, and a lot of the adults who live there are managing their own care in whatever margins are left after work and family obligations are covered. Medication management here tends to be about fitting real clinical care into a schedule that is already full, not about finding time to sit in a waiting room.
Harborside is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and every appointment happens over secure video. You do not need special equipment. A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a stable internet connection is enough, and you can be at home, at work with the door closed, or anywhere private in Southborough or elsewhere in the state.
An initial evaluation runs longer than a follow-up, because there is more to cover: history, current symptoms, prior treatment, and what you are hoping medication can help with. Follow-up appointments are shorter and are scheduled at an interval your prescriber sets based on your situation, often monthly at first and spaced out over time as things stabilize. If medication is prescribed, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose, so you can pick up locally in Southborough or wherever is convenient.
Between appointments, you communicate with your clinician through a secure patient portal for questions, refill requests, or updates that do not need a full visit.
Medication management at Harborside addresses common, treatable conditions: anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, and sleep difficulties, among others. For some conditions, medication is paired with therapy; for others, it stands on its own or supports work already being done with a therapist elsewhere. A prescriber will talk through what makes sense for your specific symptoms and history rather than starting from a preset protocol.
Your first appointment is a full clinical evaluation, not a quick screening. Expect questions about your current symptoms, how long they have been present, what you have already tried, your medical history, and any family history that might be relevant. You will have time to describe what is not working and what you want to be different. By the end of the appointment, you and your prescriber will have a plan, which may include a prescription, further evaluation, a referral to a therapist on the team, or a combination.
Before you book, it helps to have a list of any current medications, prior diagnoses, and the name of a preferred pharmacy ready to go.
Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is Harborside’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each of them are on the team page.
Therapy and eating disorder care are provided by Harborside’s licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Depending on what you need, your prescriber may work alongside one of these clinicians or refer you directly.
Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial evaluation and for follow-up appointments are listed on the pricing page, and any questions about cost can be answered before you book anything.
If you are ready to schedule, you can book an initial evaluation directly online. If you are not sure medication management is the right fit, you can reach out with questions first. Either way, the process starts with a conversation, not a commitment.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988. Harborside Psychiatrics does not provide emergency or after-hours care.

No. The first appointment includes a full evaluation, so a prior diagnosis isn’t required to get started.
Yes, with your permission. Many patients keep an existing therapist and use Harborside only for medication management.
It depends on the medication and how you’re responding to it. Some patients are seen monthly at first, then less often once things are stable.
Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, the same as they would be after an in-person visit.
Harborside is private-pay and doesn’t bill insurance directly. A superbill is available for out-of-network reimbursement, where a plan allows it.
That’s part of ongoing management. Changes are discussed and made together at a follow-up visit, not on your own.
