Eating Disorder Treatment for Hollis, NH

Every clinician at Harborside brings an extensive background in treating eating disorders and the conditions that tend to travel alongside them, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. That depth matters, because disordered eating rarely shows up on its own, and care that only addresses food and weight tends to miss what is actually driving it.

Hollis sits inside the state’s population center, the corridor running from Nashua and Merrimack out through Windham and Londonderry. Many households here cross the Massachusetts line for work every day, and no state income tax has drawn a number of professional families to town. Whatever your schedule looks like, we work with patients across Hollis for eating disorder treatment delivered entirely by video, with the full scope of care New Hampshire allows.

Eating Disorder Treatment for people in Hollis, NH

Harborside is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and sees patients by video across the states where our clinicians are licensed, including New Hampshire. There is no waiting room and no drive. You need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera.

Initial appointments run longer than follow-ups, since there is more history to cover. After that, most patients are seen on a regular cadence set by their clinician, often every few weeks for medication management and weekly or biweekly for therapy, adjusted as things stabilize or as more support is needed. If medication is part of your plan, prescriptions are sent electronically to a pharmacy you choose near Hollis, the same way they would be from any prescriber’s office.

You will use the same clinician appointment after appointment. Continuity is part of how eating disorder care works here, since these conditions are tracked over time, not diagnosed in a single visit.

How telehealth care actually works

We work with the range of eating disorders, including restrictive eating patterns, binge eating, and behaviors that involve cycles of restriction and compensation. We also treat the anxiety, depression, obsessive thinking, and body image concerns that frequently accompany disordered eating, since these often need to be addressed together rather than in isolation.

Care is built around your history, your current symptoms, and what has or has not helped before. That includes attention to physical health markers relevant to eating disorders, coordination with any outside providers involved in your care, and ongoing check-ins as your needs change.

What we treat

The first appointment is a detailed conversation. Your clinician will ask about eating patterns, weight history, mood, anxiety, sleep, and any past treatment, along with questions specific to eating disorders, such as how you think about food, exercise, and body image day to day. There is no exam and no scale in the room. This is a clinical conversation, done by video, that gives your clinician the information needed to recommend a plan.

By the end of that appointment, you should have a clear sense of what care would involve going forward, whether that means medication management, therapy, or both, and how often you would be seen.

What the first appointment involves

Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also our clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions, including those that accompany eating disorders. Full bios and credentials for each clinician are on our team page.

Therapy and eating disorder-focused clinical work are delivered by our licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC, ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Jacquelyn is also a registered art therapist, which can be a useful option for patients who find that verbal-only approaches don’t capture everything that needs to be addressed.

Who our clinicians are

Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial and a follow-up appointment are listed on our pricing page, and any questions about cost can be answered before you book anything.
