Harborside Psychiatrics is a private-pay practice offering medication management and therapy by video, for people across Massachusetts and other parts of New England. Our psychiatric nurse practitioners and licensed therapists work with adults managing anxiety, depression, mood conditions, eating disorders, and other mental health concerns. Every appointment happens by telehealth, from wherever you are.
This page walks through what that actually looks like: the platform, what to expect in a first session, what you need on your end, how prescriptions and pharmacies work, and which of our services reach which state.
We work with patients across Massachusetts and, depending on the service, several other New England states. Two kinds of care are available:
Which service is available in your state depends on licensure. The table further down spells this out.
Medication management and functional psychiatry are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners:
Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions.
Therapy, including eating disorder care, is delivered by our licensed therapy team:
Full bios and credentials for each clinician are on our team page.
Appointments happen through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You’ll receive a link by email before each session. No separate app download is required for most visits — you join from a browser on a computer, tablet, or phone.
What you need on your end:
Your first appointment runs longer than a routine follow-up. Your clinician will ask about what brought you in, your health history, current symptoms, and what you’re hoping to get out of care. For medication management, this includes a full psychiatric evaluation. For therapy, this includes understanding your goals and how you’d like to work together.
By the end of the first session, you’ll typically have a working plan: what the next few appointments will focus on, how often you’ll meet, and, if medication is part of the plan, what’s being considered and why.
If medication is part of your care, your prescriber sends it electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. You don’t need to do anything on your end beyond confirming which pharmacy you use. Follow-up appointments are where dosing, side effects, and any adjustments get discussed.
Telehealth medication management and outpatient therapy aren’t the right fit for every situation. If your clinician determines that you need a higher level of care than we provide, such as inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization program, or intensive outpatient care, they will talk with you directly and help you understand your options for getting connected to that level of support.
Harborside does not provide emergency or after-hours care. See the crisis information at the bottom of this page.
Licensure determines where each type of care can be delivered. Here’s the current breakdown:
| Service | MA | CT | RI | NH | VT | ME |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Therapy | Available | Available | Available | Available | Available | Available |
| Medication management | Available | Available | Available | Available | Available | Available |
| Controlled medication management | Available | Available | Not available | Not available | Not available | Not available |
If you’re not sure what this means for your situation, ask before booking. We’re glad to walk through it with you.
Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial appointment and a follow-up appointment are listed on our pricing page, and any questions about cost can be answered before you book anything.
