Hopkinton runs on a certain kind of pace. Marathon Monday brings the world through town once a year, and the rest of the year is school pickup lines, youth sports schedules, and long commutes into Boston or out to the 495 tech corridor. A lot of the parents who search for therapy here are doing it between other people’s appointments, often for a teenager first and then, quietly, for themselves. Harborside builds therapy around a person’s actual week rather than asking a family to rebuild its week around therapy.
Our licensed clinicians work with each client to choose an approach that fits the person, not a fixed protocol applied the same way to everyone. Sessions happen by video, on a schedule that works with school pickups, coaching practices, and commuter train timetables instead of against them.
Harborside Psychiatrics is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and delivers care by video to people across the state, including Hopkinton. You do not need special software. A laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and a private room is enough. A session link is sent ahead of time, and you join from wherever you have reliable internet, whether that is a home office, a parked car during a lunch break, or a bedroom with the door closed.
Therapy sessions typically run about 45 minutes. How often you meet depends on what you and your therapist decide together, and that can change over time, from weekly to less frequent as things settle. If medication is part of your care, that work is handled separately by one of our psychiatric nurse practitioners, and any prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose, including ones in or near Hopkinton. Appointments are scheduled in advance, and there is no walk-in or same-day emergency component to telehealth care.
Therapy at Harborside addresses a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood shifts, stress that has built up over time, difficulty adjusting to a life change, relationship strain, grief, and disordered eating. Some clients come in with a clear diagnosis already in hand. Others come in only knowing that something feels off and want help figuring out what that is. Both are reasonable starting points, and the first conversations are as much about clarifying what is going on as they are about deciding what to do about it.
The first appointment is a conversation, not a form to fill out and forget. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in, your history, and what you are hoping is different on the other side of this. There is no pressure to have that fully worked out before you show up. Part of the first session is figuring out, together, what kind of approach and what kind of pace make sense for you. From there, you and your therapist set a plan for how often to meet and what the early sessions will focus on.
Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also the practice’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions, and each brings their own areas of focus to that work. Full bios and credentials for all three are on the team page.
Therapy and eating disorder care are delivered by our licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, a registered art therapist, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Between them, they cover a range of styles and specialties, and part of getting started is matching you with the clinician whose approach fits what you are looking for.
Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial appointment and for follow-up sessions are listed on the pricing page, and any questions about cost can be answered before you book anything.
If you are ready to look into therapy, the next step is booking an initial appointment or reaching out with questions first. Sessions are held by video, so location within Massachusetts is not a barrier, and scheduling works around the realities of a Hopkinton household, whether that means an evening slot after practice or a window between meetings. You can also look through our therapy services, our Massachusetts telehealth information, or what we offer across the MetroWest region before deciding.
If anxiety is a piece of what you are dealing with, our page on anxiety treatment goes into more detail on how that work is approached.

No. Harborside’s therapists are licensed clinicians who provide psychotherapy, not psychiatric prescribers. Anyone who also wants medication management can be connected separately with one of Harborside’s psychiatric nurse practitioners.
Most clients meet weekly or every other week, depending on what’s agreed with the therapist during the first few sessions.

That’s a reasonable place to start. Many clients begin therapy without a specific problem in mind, and the first session is built around figuring that out together.
