Harborside Psych

Therapy for Medway, MA

Therapy at Harborside is delivered by licensed clinicians who work with each client to choose an approach that fits the person, rather than running everyone through the same protocol, on a schedule built around real life rather than office hours. In Medway, that often means fitting sessions around a commute along Route 109, a coaching schedule, or the pace of a household managing school, work, and everything in between. Families here tend to be busy and involved, and the person doing the calling is often a parent trying to find care that will actually hold up against a full week.

Therapy for people in Medway, MA

Therapy for people in Medway

Medway sits at the edge of a much larger area we work across, and the town has its own rhythm. People here are often juggling long work commutes with youth sports schedules, school commitments, and aging parents nearby. That combination produces a specific kind of stress: not always crisis-level, but persistent, and hard to schedule around. Therapy that requires a weekly drive somewhere and a fixed appointment slot does not always survive contact with that kind of week. Therapy delivered by video, at a time that actually holds, tends to fare better.

We work with adults, and with older teens where appropriate, on the everyday pressures that bring people to therapy: anxiety that will not quiet down, low mood that has outlasted its excuse, relationship strain, grief, and the general sense of being stretched thinner than a person can sustainably be. The goal of a first conversation is simply to understand what is going on and what kind of support would actually fit.

How telehealth care actually works

How telehealth care actually works

Harborside is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and delivers care by video across the state. For someone in Medway, that means you do not drive anywhere. You need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera. Sessions are held through a secure video platform, and you will get a link ahead of time along with any paperwork to complete beforehand.

A typical therapy session runs about 45 minutes. Frequency depends on what is going on and what you and your clinician agree makes sense, whether that is weekly to start or a longer cadence once things stabilize. If medication is part of your care, prescriptions are sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choosing, including pharmacies in or near Medway, so you are not driving to Yarmouth Port to pick anything up. Medication appointments and therapy appointments are separate, and some clients do both, coordinated by the same practice.

What we treat

What we treat

Therapy at Harborside addresses a broad range of everyday and more complex concerns: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, adjustment to a life change, relationship and family strain, disordered eating, and the kind of chronic overwhelm that does not always have a single clean diagnosis attached to it. Some clients come in with a clear reason. Others come in simply knowing that something has felt off for a while and they want help figuring out what to do about it. Both are reasonable starting points.

We also work with clients managing attention and focus difficulties, mood swings, and other concerns that may benefit from a combination of therapy and medication management, coordinated between the therapy team and our prescribers when that combination makes sense for you.

What the first appointment involves

What the first appointment involves

The first appointment is mostly conversation. Your clinician will ask about what brought you in, your history, what has helped or not helped before, and what you are hoping is different. There is no assumption that you already know the right diagnosis or the right treatment plan walking in. Part of the first session is figuring that out together. You will leave with a sense of what ongoing sessions would look like and how often, and you can ask questions about approach, pacing, or logistics at any point.

Who our clinicians are

Who our clinicians are

Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also the practice’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each of them are on the team page.

Therapy and eating disorder work are delivered by our licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Jacquelyn is also a registered art therapist, and clients are matched with a therapist based on what they need and what approach seems likely to fit, not assigned at random.

What it costs

What it costs

Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial appointment and for follow-up sessions are listed on the pricing page, and questions about cost can be answered before you book anything.

Getting started

Getting started

If you are in Medway and thinking about therapy, the next step is a first appointment, not a decision about what your whole plan will look like. You can review the therapy page for more on how sessions work, check the Massachusetts telehealth page for state-specific details, or see the MetroWest, MA region page for how we work with towns near Medway. If anxiety is a primary concern for you, our anxiety treatment page has more detail on that specific work.
