Medication Management for Centerville, MA

Harborside Psychiatrics is physically based on Cape Cod, in Yarmouth Port, and uses telehealth to bring medication management to people across New England. That matters here because Centerville is not a summer postcard for the people who actually live in it. It is a year-round village of Barnstable, with retirees managing life on a fixed income, seasonal-business owners whose income and stress load run in two very different halves of the year, and families whose school calendar and work calendar rarely match. A medication plan that only makes sense from June through August does not hold up the other nine months, and we build care with that in mind.

Medication Management for people in Centerville, MA

Care happens over live video, not messaging or a call center. You need a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a private place to talk. A first appointment runs longer than a routine follow-up, because there is more history to cover. After that, most people are seen on a schedule that fits their situation, whether that is every few weeks while a medication is being adjusted or further apart once things are steady.

Prescriptions, when appropriate, are sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choosing near Centerville or anywhere else in Massachusetts. You do not travel to Yarmouth Port for this. The clinical team is based there, but the appointment comes to you.

How telehealth care actually works

Medication management at Harborside addresses conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic symptoms, obsessive-compulsive patterns, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and sleep disruption connected to a mental health condition. Because Massachusetts allows the prescribing of controlled medications when clinically appropriate, that can include stimulant medication for ADHD or other controlled options, decided case by case. We also work alongside therapy for people who need both medication and a therapist, and we coordinate with existing providers when someone already has a care team in place.

What we treat

The first visit is an evaluation, not a prescription pad exercise. You will talk through current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, any medications you have tried, and what you are hoping changes. The clinician uses that conversation, along with any records you can share, to build a plan. Sometimes that plan starts a medication right away. Sometimes it means more discussion, lab work, or a follow-up visit before any prescribing decision is made. You leave with a clear next step either way.

What the first appointment involves

Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also Harborside’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each clinician are on the team page.

Therapy and eating disorder work at Harborside are delivered by the licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Some people who work with Harborside see a prescriber for medication and a therapist for ongoing support, coordinated as one plan.

Who our clinicians are

Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial and a follow-up appointment are listed on the pricing page, and questions about cost can be answered before anything is booked.

What it costs

If you are in Centerville and thinking about medication management, the next step is scheduling an initial evaluation. You can look at the medication management overview for more detail on how this service works generally, or the Massachusetts telehealth page for how care is delivered across the state. Harborside also works with people throughout the Cape Cod region, and if anxiety in particular is what brought you here, our anxiety treatment page covers how that condition is addressed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a diagnosis already to book an appointment?

No. The first appointment includes a full evaluation, so a prior diagnosis isn’t required to get started.

Yes, with your permission. Many patients keep an existing therapist and use Harborside only for medication management.

It depends on the medication and how you’re responding to it. Some patients are seen monthly at first, then less often once things are stable.

Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, the same as they would be after an in-person visit.

Harborside is private-pay and doesn’t bill insurance directly. A superbill is available for out-of-network reimbursement, where a plan allows it.

That’s part of ongoing management. Changes are discussed and made together at a follow-up visit, not on your own.
