Forestdale runs on a different clock than the villages closer to the water. It is a place of full-time households, not seasonal ones, where the rhythm of the year matters more than the tourist calendar. Harborside is based right here on Cape Cod, in Yarmouth Port, and we work with clients in Forestdale who want therapy that fits an ordinary week rather than a summer schedule. Our therapists work with each client to choose an approach that fits the person, not a fixed protocol, delivered by video on a schedule built around real life.
Harborside is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and delivers care by video across the state. Sessions happen through a secure video platform you can join from a computer, tablet, or phone with a stable internet connection. There is no waiting room and no drive.
A typical therapy session runs about 45 to 50 minutes. How often you meet depends on what you and your therapist decide together, some clients start weekly and shift to every other week, others meet less often once things settle into a routine. If your care includes medication management, prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice near Forestdale, so pickup works the same way it would after any other appointment.
What this means in practice: you keep your evening plans, your work schedule, or your family’s routine, and the appointment fits into it instead of the other way around.
Our therapy team works with adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, mood changes, grief, trauma, life transitions, and the kind of chronic stress that builds up over years of managing work, caregiving, or a household. We also support eating disorder concerns through our licensed therapy team. Some clients come in with a clear diagnosis already in hand. Others come in only knowing that something feels off and want help figuring out what is going on and what might help. Both are a reasonable place to start.
The first appointment is mostly conversation. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in, your history, your current life circumstances, and what you are hoping care will look like. There is no test to pass and nothing to prepare in advance beyond showing up. By the end of the appointment, you and your therapist should have a shared sense of what the next several sessions will focus on and how often you will meet.
Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also Harborside’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each clinician are on the team page.
Therapy and eating disorder work are delivered by our licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Jacquelyn is also a registered art therapist, which she draws on for clients who find that approach useful. Your therapist will work with you to shape an approach suited to your situation rather than apply a single fixed method to every client.
Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial and a follow-up appointment are listed on our pricing page, and questions about cost can be answered before anything is booked.
If you are ready to schedule, or you just want to ask a few questions first, you can reach out through our website and someone will walk you through next steps. There is no pressure to commit to anything before you have the information you need. If anxiety is part of what brought you here, our anxiety treatment page has more detail on how we approach it.

No. Harborside’s therapists are licensed clinicians who provide psychotherapy, not psychiatric prescribers. Anyone who also wants medication management can be connected separately with one of Harborside’s psychiatric nurse practitioners.
Most clients meet weekly or every other week, depending on what’s agreed with the therapist during the first few sessions.
No. Harborside is a private-pay practice. Clients with out-of-network mental health benefits can request a superbill to submit to their insurer for possible reimbursement.
That’s a reasonable place to start. Many clients begin therapy without a specific problem in mind, and the first session is built around figuring that out together.
