Harborside Psych

Therapy for Pocasset, MA

Therapy works best when the approach fits the person, not the other way around. At Harborside, licensed clinicians choose methods session by session, built around what a client actually needs, delivered by video on a schedule that fits real life instead of a fixed clinic hour.

Pocasset lives on two different clocks. There’s the summer version of the village, and there’s the rest of the year: retirees settling into a routine, seasonal-business households catching their breath after Labor Day, families managing school schedules on the Bourne side of the canal. Harborside is based year-round on Cape Cod, in Yarmouth Port, and works with people in Pocasset on that same year-round rhythm, not just when the ferries are running.

Therapy for people in Pocasset, MA

Harborside is based in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and delivers therapy by secure video to clients across the state. You do not need special equipment. A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a stable internet connection is enough. You log in from wherever you have privacy: home, a parked car, a quiet office.

A typical therapy session runs about 45 to 50 minutes. Frequency depends on what you’re working through: some people start weekly and taper to every other week, others prefer a steadier every-two-weeks pace from the start. That gets decided together with your clinician, not set in advance.

If your care also involves medication, prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice near Pocasset, so there’s no separate errand tied to an in-person visit. Follow-up medication appointments are also done by video, on a schedule your prescriber sets based on what you’re taking and how you’re doing on it.

How telehealth care actually works

Harborside’s therapy team works with adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and the kind of chronic stress that builds up over a season or a career. Therapy also supports people managing eating disorders, body image concerns, and the emotional side of major life changes, including retirement, caregiving, and shifts in a family or household’s structure.

Some clients come in with a clear diagnosis already in hand. Others come in only knowing something feels off and want help figuring out what that is. Both are a reasonable place to start.

What we treat

The first appointment is mostly conversation. Your clinician asks about what brought you in, your history, and what you’re hoping changes or steadies. There’s no assumption that you’ll have a tidy summary ready. Part of the appointment is figuring out, together, what approach and pace make sense going forward, and what a realistic first few sessions look like.

What the first appointment involves

Medication management and functional psychiatry at Harborside are performed by psychiatric nurse practitioners: Rachel Egan, RN PMHNP-BC, who is also Harborside’s clinical director, Emily Pardue, RN PMHNP-BC, and Kirstin Ritchie, RN PMHNP-BC. Each is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe for mental health conditions. Full bios and credentials for each of them are on the team page.

Therapy and eating disorder work are delivered by Harborside’s licensed therapy team: Hannah Legesse, LICSW, Tori Mahoney, LMHC, Jacquelyn Duford, LCMHC, ATR, and Lexie Carchedi, LCSW. Jacquelyn is also a registered art therapist, which is one of several approaches available depending on what fits a given client.

Who our clinicians are

Harborside is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly for appointments. Current fees for an initial and a follow-up appointment are listed on the pricing page, and questions about cost can be answered before anything is booked.

What it costs

Getting started begins with scheduling an initial appointment, done the same way as any follow-up: by video, from wherever you are in or around Pocasset. There’s no separate intake process to navigate beforehand. You can review Harborside’s full range of services on the therapy page, learn more about how the practice works across the state on the Massachusetts telehealth page, or see how care is organized across the region on the Cape Cod page. If anxiety is part of what’s bringing you in, the anxiety treatment page has more detail on what that work involves.
